Who We Are

Louisville Wood Floors was formed in 2006 as the successor to Kentucky Wood Floors. Kentucky Wood Floors was started in 1977 and quickly became the industry’s dominant, custom wood flooring company. Some of its many unique milestones were:

Providing all the hardwood floors for The White House from 1978 to 2006

Receiving the American Society of Interior Designers International Product Design Award in 1980 for its Citation pattern

Introducing many imported species over the years, including the names “Brazilian Cherry” for Jatoba and “Brazilian Walnut” for Ipe in 1980

Introducing many new patterns over the years, including Aquatica, Camelot, Citation, Palace, & many custom borders & custom accents

Paving the way for today’s large Point-of-Purchase showroom displays with its Design Center in 1997

Using Reggie Jackson and Mario Andretti as company spokespersons

Receiving a “Best Buy” designation from Consumers Digest in 2000

Introducing the first national “Floor of the Year” competition in 1986, competitions which were eventually sponsored by the National Wood Flooring Association starting in 1990

Being the official wood flooring licensee for both Bob Timberlake and Mount Vernon.

We offer a wide variety of domestic and imported wood species.
